With a faith rooted both, in the Pilgrim mothers and fathers who fled England for religious freedom, and the Geneva Reformation, I invite you to join with us in affirming the acceptance of all human beings as members of God's family.
Welcome to Detroit Metropolitan Association - Where God is still speaking!WE ARE A DISTINCT AND DIVERSE COMMUNITY OF CHRISTIANS THAT COME TOGETHER AS ONE CHURCH, JOINING FAITH AND ACTION
We believe in transformation, we believe the church’s mission is changing lives - individually, systemically and globally. We support, encourage and uplift local churches where lives are being changed through worship, education, fellowship, mission, and justice advocacy.
We need solitude with God to restore and direct us. From that comes a natural outflow of compassionate service to others. Community—challenging, supportive relationship with other believers—sustains and encourages us on the road. Contemplation renews our minds so we will live effectively.
In the United Church of Christ, we do justice. We started in the 60's with the Civil Right movement. We've been advocating for gay rights since the 70's. We took on environmental racism in the 80's. And in 2005, we were the first church in America to endorse marriage equality. We're doing justice. Join us.
